2008年北京奥运开幕式(The Olympic opening ceremony, 2008)

　　On July 13, 2001 at night, when the chairman of the International Olympic Organizing Committee announced: "The 29th Olympic host city is Bei Jing." China would be recorded in the Olympic history at that very moment.The historic moment would be remembered in everybody's heart, the important moment would show the world that our China was not backward anymore, and was not a poor country anymore.All of the Chinese people were raising their heads, to show the world our ever increasing power.

　　Seven years later, on August 8,2008 at night, the 29th Olympic opening ceremony started at 8:08 pm. The director of the Olympic opening ceremony was Yi Mou Zhang, he was a famous movie director all over the world, especially in his home country China. The first chapter 1 of the opening ceremony was a drumming performance with many lights.They were displaying the Olympic opening ceremony's time, "Ten, Nine,Eight,...One.".When the countdown was done,all over the Bei Jing started fireworks,it was so fantastic.My father said: "Unbelievable! China is so great."

　　That night, all the Chinese people were "boiling",cheering,feelingconfident:"today, we are strong."If a foreigner knows you are Chinese, he or she will say :"China is so great!" Then,you can't say something like that, "Of course !","You think so?". You just say: "Thanks."

　　During the 2008 Olympic opening ceremony, they showed the Chinese history and , culture, and inventions, such as the compass, the printing, the gunpowder,etc. And also, the Olympic Theme song was sung by Liu Huan and a famous British singer,I like this Olympic Theme song because you know I like Liu Huan, who is a famous singer in China, and he has a high level of singing. His singing added luster to the Olympic opening ceremony.

　　The most important time was the Ignition ritual.The Chinese gymnastics prince Li Ning took off with a torch in his right hand. And then he was space-walking in the sky and around the Bird Nest Coliseum a Circle, at last, he inflamed the biggest torch by the one in his right hand.
